I was born and raised in a Christian home, the second child of two faithful church members who served their church faithfully. My father is the pastor of Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church where he has been for over twenty years. In the fall of 1999,  during a Sunday morning service I prayed to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savoir.

            I remained faithful and active at Piney Grove Chapel throughout. My senior year in high school I began to feel the call of ministry upon my life. I publicly surrendered to the ministry in 2000. Upon my surrender I entered college to begin my undergraduate degree to be equipped to serve in Gods ministry. I was licensed to the gospel ministry in December of 2001. During this time I was serving in my local church as a Sunday School teacher and as a Youth Leader.

            I made the decision in late 2002 to join the Marine Corp without Gods guidance. I began to live the life of Jonah running from the orders of the Almighty. I knew what God called me to do, but went traveling in the opposite direction, thinking I would return to Gods calling when I was older.

            This thought process totally changed when I realized how short life really is when I was shot in the chest by a sniper in Iraq. Laying in a that hospital bed in Fallujah I wondered “why God had spared my life when others in my company didn’t receive a second chance?” These thoughts lead me to the book with the answers, Gods word. It was again made clear to me that God has plans for my life and I should be about my Fathers business.

            I made a vow to God at that moment to take up the cross and follow Him, and to keep both hands on the plow. I believe with all my heart that I am a man called of God to spread His word to a lost and dying world and to disciple His followers.

            I am now currently serving fulltime as Student Minister/Christian Education here at Calvary Baptist. My purpose is to become all God saved me to be personally and professionally while seeking to influence the greatest number of people in the most positive and powerful ways for the Kingdom and glory of Jesus Christ. To disciple students to deviate from the world to God.
